Welcome to Contayo, an application provided by The Capitalyst Limited ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our Contayo application (the "App") on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Our philosophy is simple: Your data is yours. Our App is designed from the ground up to be private by default. All of your personal information and all AI processing happens exclusively on your device. We never see, store, or have access to your personal content.
2. Information We Handle
Contayo is designed to function without collecting any of your personal data on our servers. The information the App handles resides solely on your personal devices and in your private iCloud account.
A. Information You Provide and Generate:
- Contact Information: Names, company details, phone numbers, email addresses, and other information you enter for your contacts.
- Business Cards: Images of business cards you scan with the camera or imported to the App.
- Debrief Entries: Notes, thoughts, and details about your interactions that you write in the App's diary.
- Audio Recordings: Voice memos you record within the App or imported into the App.
B. Information We Access with Your Explicit Permission:
To provide its full functionality, the App may request access to the following. Access is only granted if you explicitly allow it via the system prompt:
- Contacts: To create new contacts or update existing ones in your device's address book from information captured in Contayo.
- Camera: To allow you to scan business cards.
- Microphone: To allow you to record audio for voice memos.
- Speech Recognition: To perform on-device transcription of your audio recordings.
3. How We Use Your Information
The key principle is that all processing of your information is done locally on your device.
- To Provide Core App Functionality: We use your information to organize your contacts, display your debrief entries, and link the two together to provide a rich history of your professional relationships.
- To Power On-Device AI Features:
- Person Summaries & Debrief Analysis: The preloaded AI model (Qwen3) analyzes your contact and diary information to generate summaries and suggest connections. This analysis happens entirely on your device. Your personal data is never sent to us or any third party for AI processing.
- Business Card Scanning & Transcription: We use on-device frameworks to extract text from business card images and transcribe your audio recordings.
- To Sync Your Data: We use Apple's CloudKit service to seamlessly and securely sync your data across all your devices signed into the same iCloud account.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not share your personal information with anyone because we never have access to it.
- No Servers, No Sharing: We do not operate servers to store your personal data. Therefore, we cannot and do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
- iCloud Sync: When you enable iCloud sync, your data is transferred and stored in your private iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have the keys to access this encrypted data.
5. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
- Local Storage: All of your data is stored locally on your device(s) in a private, sandboxed container using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- On-Device AI: To be perfectly clear: all AI processing happens on your device's processor. Unlike many other "AI" apps, Contayo does not upload your sensitive personal or business data to a cloud server for analysis.
- You Are in Control: You can add, edit, and delete your data at any time directly within the App. As we do not have a copy of your data, its retention is entirely under your control.
6. Third-Party Services
- Apple (CloudKit, SwiftData): Our App is built on Apple's native frameworks. Your data storage and synchronization are handled by these secure services.
- Qwen3 Large Language Model: The App includes an integrated version of the Qwen3 language model, which is subject to the Apache 2.0 license. This model runs entirely on your device and does not transmit any of your data to its original authors or to us.
7. Children's Privacy
Contayo is designed for professionals and is not intended for use by children under the age of 4. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
